It’s funny because it’s racist.

I was just reading a review of the newest 30 Rock episode (amazing episode, as always, this time with twice the Alec Baldwin!).

One of the comments:  “I knew a girl who was half Chinese, half Czech. She called herself a Chinese Czecher.”  I thought that was clever.  And so I laughed.

Kate Micucci and Juana Molina

So, these two girls, I have crushes on them

I don’t remember where I first saw this video “Dear Deer,” by Kate Micucci, but I quickly developed a little crush on her. The song is catchy and funny, the looks on the kids faces are priceless, and Kate Micucci is oddly cute. Also, Kate was a guest star on the most recent episode of Scrubs, in which Ted finds love.

Juana Molina is a former TV star in the Spanish speaking world.  She began recording music in the late 90s and she has become one of my favorite artists.  Her music is usually described as electrofolk, sung in her native Rioplatense Spanish.  This is “La Verdad” from her 2006 album Son, one of my favorite songs from that album.

Updated the design!

I’ve done some work on the design, moved things around, made it more stylish. I will go somewhere from here with a new design, just have to learn HTML, PHP, and CSS… no problem there.

I watched On Her Majesty’s Secret Service with some friends last night. I think it is one of the better Bond films I’ve seen, certainly better than Pierce Brosnan’s final three efforts.

This time, here is a song by Chad VanGaalen from his new album Soft Airplane. I love this album, I’ve been listening to it almost every day for the past month.

Music I Like, Vol. 1 Iss. 1

It’s no secret that I love music, and in the spirit of sharing, here are a couple songs that I enjoy.  I’ll probably continue this as long as I have music to share.

The Ruby Suns are from New Zealand by way of California.  They most certainly take notes from the Beach Boys, which is, of course, not a bad thing.  This is one of my favorite songs from most recent excellent album, Sea Lion.

Secondly, this is a remix by Kings of Convenience of the superb “Drop” by Cornelius, an electropop wonder out of Japan.  It comes off Erlend Øye’s DJ Kicks album and that’s a Phoenix song you hear at the end (if  you were curious).  Please enjoy!

Welcome back Shugo

Shugo Tokumaru’s new album Exit dropped recently on Japanese label P-Vine. I love the pop bliss of his previous albums, L.S.T. and Night Piece. While I haven’t heard the entire new album, the videos available on his website and YouTube are wonderful. Enjoy.
